The Mahabat Maqbara mausoleum is a late nineteenth century (1892) Muslim tomb; a dream from tales of a thousand and one nights; hardly old enough to be regarded as historical by Indian standards.
Junagadh is a located in a region called Saurashtra in Gujarat and is the place where you'll find old forts of ancient ruler and is still standing firm which makes visitors to come again and again. it's like a museum where you'll find architectures and forts of 19th century.
One such fort is the Mahabat Maqbara which is also a tomb of Mahabat Khan and was built by his successor Bahadur Kanji. it's the most fascinating tomb built in Junagadh. it's the masterpiece of its own because it's being covered with yellow mausoleum. This beautiful fort has an onion shaped dome. Its interior has been designed in a very unique way and has been created in a royal and medieval type of architecture.
It has the blend of Indo-Islamic structure and represents the equality and religious egos and exchange of new culture. This fort is surrounded with one side of Jama Masjid and other side with Vazir’s Maqbara. This place is really a beauty to be visited because of the surrounding and silent place which makes a peaceful visit away from rush hour of city.
Usually, the maqbara is kept locked if the visitors are not present but can be unlocked by taking the keys from the nearby masjid.
How to Reach:
To reach Mahabat Maqbara one can take state transports that are available from all parts of city.
